Thai Foods felicitate Nepali Cricketers
Nepal Cricket
Team players were felicitated by Asian Thai Foods (P) Ltd for their success
at the recently concluded fourth ACC Trophy. Mr Shivsaran Sarda distributed
token of appreciation to all members of the team. Speaking on the occasion,
Sarda congratulated the Cricket Association of Nepal for it's persistent
efforts assured both financial and other support of Rum Pum Noodles, a
product of Sarda Group, for the development of cricket in the country
in future. Binod Shanker Palikhe was chief guest on this occasion. "Government
alone cannot do much." he said. "Support from private sector is essential
for the overall development of sports." On the occasion, Rohini Dixit
rewarded with cash prizes of Rs 7000 each of three of the best performers
in the ACC Trophy: Dipendra Chaudhary, Shakti Prasad Gauchan, Mehboob
Alam on the fond memories of her late husband Dr Kalyan Mani Dixit. She
also announced the institution of Kalyan Mani Dixit Memorial Trophy after
late Dixit. The trophy will be held in Birgunj from next year.

Minister felicitates Cricketers
Prime Minister Sher Bahadur Deuba, on Saturday, felicitated Nepali Cricket
Team for their success in the recently concluded ACC Trophy held in Singapore.
"The nation is proud of our boys,"Deuba said. "At present cricket is only
sports in the nation for which we can take a breath of relief. I assure
that the government will do everything possible to enhance country's status
as a cricket playing nation," he added. Binod Shankar Palikhe, member-secretary
of National Sports Council and Jay Kumar Nath Shah, the president of CAN
also present there.
Earlier, the Democratic National Youth Federation (DNYF) and people Volunteers
Nepal also felicitated the squad. On the occassion, Madhav Kumar Nepal,
the General Secretary of Nepal Communist party United Marxist Leninist(UML)
praised the performance of the team." We should provide conductive environment
to all the sports irrespective of the situation in the country," said
Nepal. At the occasion, team captain Raju Khadka urged all the political
parties to work together for the development of cricket. The Khichapokhari
club also honored the team on Saturday morning.

felicitates Nepali Cricket Team
The National Sports Council felicitated the Nepali Cricket that returned
with the runners-up trophy from the fourth ACC Trophy held in Singapore.
At Dashrath Stadium, Jay Kumar Nath Shah revealed that the association
would come out shortly with an annual cricket calender. Nepal has been
receiving the sum under the heading of International Cricket Council's
(ICC) development fund to its affiliate members. Minister of the state
for Education and Sports Narayan Prasad Saud gave away felicitation letter
to all the members of the squad. Saud, underlining the unprecedented success
of cricket team, said "Cricket is the only discipline which provides relief
in otherwise degrading Nepali Sports."It's time that we handle the team
sensibly because our boys have more than ten years of cricket remaining
in them," he added. On the occasion, Nepal's vice-captain Binod Das, thanked
all the team mates, coaches, team manager, officials, journalists and
cricket fans for providing the team a much needed boost during the tournament.
Recollecting the tour, Das, appreciated the training management and environment
provided by the officials for the team. Earlier, former Prime Minister
Girija Prasad Koirala also felicitated the squad at his residence in Maharajgunj.
