Nepal beats Singapore by 205 runs |

Nepal has defeated Singapore by huge score of 205 runs in ACC Premier League 3-day Tournament held here in Tribhuwan University International Cricket Ground, November 12th, 2006. With this win Nepal captures altogether 33.5 points to lead points table. Singapore resumed their second innings on Day 3 with score on the board 116/3. The pitch which has given something to all pace bowlers in first hour of play stormed Singaporean team. In span of first four overs Singapore lost their 4 wickets for 16 runs. Chaminda Ruwan was the pick of the batsman from Singapore. He scored 55 from 92 balls without any boundaries. Christoper Janik and Wicket-Keeper B. Vignesh also showed some resistance in the lower order but could save the macth. At the end Singore were all out for 196 in 61 overs and the match was over before lunch time. All three days of action was broadcasted LIVE by Nepal Television Metro Channel. In this match, Mahaboob Alam was declared Man-of-the Match for his quick half centuary in each innings and 3 wickets in the match. Binod Das, captain of Nepal, got Best Bowler award and Paresh Lohani, the only centuarian in Nepal's first inning got Best Batsman award. All the awards and momento to players and offices were presented during post match session held at Annapurna Hotel. Rt. Hon'ble Minister for Sport and Education Mangal Siddi Manandhar gave away the awards and momento. Other dignities from National Sports Council, Cricket Association of Nepal Board Members, Staff, Players, Officials, Sponsors and Sports Journalist were present on the occasion. Nepal, after a win against Singapore, collected 9.5 Batting points, 10 bowling point and 14 bonus point for win. Nepal is schedule to play against Malaysia from Novemebr 24-26, 2006 in Malaysia. |
