These Development Regions will coordinate with Cricket Association of Nepal (CAN) to formulate the development plan for their region and implement it after the plans has been approved by CAN. The function of Regional Development Boards will be to develop cricket and popularise it in their region, develop infrastructures, train players at various levels, giving more emphasis for the development of this game at school level, and provide training to Umpires and coaches and to raise funds locally to support their various activities.

Development Map of Nepal has been prepared with the objective of highlighting areas where cricket is being played and also giving stage-wise development plans of introducing this game in new areas. The plan emphasizes to develop the standard of this game by proving better training facilities in the area marked and stage-wise development of the other areas.

Cricket Association of Nepal along with its Regional and District level organizations will provide land for the development of cricketing facilities; provide man power for running of these activities, salaries and other benefits to coaches and Umpires. Regional funds will also be generated for the procurement of equipments and training materials. As local resources have their limitations, if funding is provided for materials and coaching players which will go a long way in popularizing cricket in Nepal and also raise the standard of the game.
